Talent of the week: Nikolai Neskromnyi

To build a strong brand, we had to make sure we select the best less-discovered artisans of the world. On a trip to Kazakhstan, which is the cultural background used as an inspiration for our first collection, I have met few of them. The on that stood out the most was Nikolai Neskromnyi (www.rbn.kz). His specialty is creating leather and paper goods. In his work you can see beautiful kazakh ornamentation from a different perspective, brought by careful hand-crafting and embossing.

He works in a small studio in Almaty city, Kazakhstan. Nikolai has been doing it for his whole life therefore the production is both accurate and fast. For small goods it takes a day to make and for leather satchels it takes around 5 to 7 days.
